OSCU Open Meeting, November 2026
OSCU
This month's Open Meeting will include a special presentation on OA Publishing:
"The UU has a new open access policy! So what?"
led by Jeroen Bosman
The new open access policy of the UU (Utrecht University Open Access Policy 2026-2030) drives the development and investment decisions around open access for the coming 5 years. It is ambitious in that it has a wider scope in terms of publication types and in that it addresses more aspects, including digital autonomy and knowledge equity, next to access, licenses and metadata. In this session, Jeroen Bosman will briefly introduce the policy before we will together look at the 49 (!) concrete actions. We will discuss these and look at connections with data and code and with whatever you are doing in your role. You will leave the session knowing whether and why you should care or even play a role in some of the OA actions of the UU. Expect to not be sitting and listening, but walking and talking!
Each month, OSCU invites a broad spectrum of participation and dialogue on an array of issues related to Open Science. These meetings can rotate through a variety of content types: open gatherings for community members to converse or collaborate, governance meetings to transparently convey the scaffoldings of OSCU, special topic sessions with invited speakers to share knowledge on Open Science issues or skills.
All are welcome - please forward on this invitation!
